Microneedling

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy is a non- invasive cosmetic procedure. It involves the use of very fine needles to create micro-channels in the skin. This process activates your skin’s healing mechanism which results in the production of collagen and elastin as well as increased cell turnover. Microneedling increases skin product absorption up to 2000%! Since your skin is more permeable, the serums can go deep and work their magic.

What are the benefits?

Microneedling can significantly reduce and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation, pore size, scars and stretch marks.

How long does the procedure take?

The microneedling procedure takes 30-45 minutes depending on the size of the area treated. The entire treatment is 75 minutes and includes a pre-treatment application of a lidocaine numbing cream, topical serums and botanicals, a cooling cucumber mask, body acupuncture and LED light therapy.

What can I expect after the treatment?

Immediately after your treatment your skin may appear pink, red and/or dry similar to a mild sunburn. This typically disappears after 12-24hrs depending on your skin. You will be given a skin aftercare kit at your first visit to accelerate recovery and results.

When will I see results?

Patients generally notice an immediate “glow” to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results can continue to improve up to 6 months after a treatment as collagen production continues.

How many treatments will I need?

It is recommended for most patients to receive a series of 4 treatments spaced about 4-5 weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks or acne scars it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 4-6-week intervals.

Are there any contra-indications?

• Pregnancy, although nano needling is safe.
• Active outbreaks of Shingles, cold sores or other skin
diseases like eczema and psoriasis
• Warts, open wounds, acne pustules
• Cancer patients in active treatment and radiation of the skin
within a year
• Keloid Scars
• Discoid Lupus
• Use of Accutane within the last 3 months
• Wait 2 weeks post filler or botox

You will be given a patient aftercare kit and instructions to help enhance recovery and results.
